Did I Pass the Test......

Today there was a fabric sale at one of the local churches.  I missed the sale last year and this year I was determined to get there at 9am when it started!  I found several pieces that I liked and the prices were very reasonable and I know the guild does great things with the money!  Here is the test......I knew about how much I had spent and was chatting with one of the ladies that I knew and paid, when I got in the car I realized that they had not charged me for one of the pieces, the most expensive and largest piece almost 7 yards!  Well I could have just driven off, but......I ran in and told them they forgot to charge me for that one piece and paid them!  Did I pass the test??  Here are the goodies that I found:
The dark fabric was the one that was almost free, LOL, these are my favorites!

These were packaged as a bundle, I liked  the
three on the top the most and the rest will be added to my scraps for a project someday.

I was able to get the shutters painted and the trim around the garage doors done, a trip to the dump transfer station and got rid of some of the old stuff that has been under the deck waiting for me to take it away!
Here is what else we have been working on...... our middle son and one of his friends came today and sawed the big pile and now I will be able to manage them for the splitter.
Here is the pile that w had already split and stacked to come in the house sometime next month.

Last week my hubby was out digging and cleaning the roots where we have been cutting trees and he found this bottle, don't know how he didn't break it with the bucket of the tractor!
Our road used to be a small dirt back road that I think many drove and threw their trash, it says wine on the bottom and has a patten # on the it, I don't think it's that old but probably older than me, it has a screw top that is rusted.

Hope you have a great weekend.

  1. Yep, you passed the test. I was given $20 too much in change one time and when I gave it back the guy behind me said that I should have kept it. I told him that it wasn't mine and the thought of keeping it never crossed my mind.

I love the old bottle. It has a neat pattern on it.

  2. Love the dark fabric you got! Love the old bottle too! We've got plenty of wood for this winter, but we'll probably have to get some cut and stacked in the spring for next winter.

  3. You definitely passed the test. Good karma.

You scored some really nice fabric there... I can't wait to see what you do with it all... another quilt? I am sure it will be as gorgeous as your other ones.

You have been busy with that wood pile... wow... that is a lot of work. You will be nice and toasty this winter.

Have a great weekend Denise... xo

    Hugs, Deb

  4. Yes you passed the test. I'm sure the Lord put that fabric there for you and now that you've passed the test that fabric will become the parts of some very special quilts.

When my daughter was young we bought some things at the store and the clerk didn't charge us for something. I went back and straightened it out and I think that made a lasting impression on her. Both my children are extremely honest.

  5. Yes you passed the test. Not many people would do that. I have many times given back money that does not belong to me...even if it is a quarter..the looks I get from cashiers.. I bet you left a ever lasting impression today..

Your fabrics are great.. Can't wait to see what you are going to do with them.

That is a lot of wood you split and it will keep you nice and warm this winter...

    Have a great day..

  6. Hi Denise,
Yes you did good. Looks like you had a very busy day. Can't wait to see what you make with all the pretty fabric.

  7. I can't wait to see what you make with all the pretty fabric!

  8. Dear Denise,
You found some beautiful fabric! I love collecting fabric, although half the time I don't know what I'll use it for. Sometimes I just display my piles!
That bottle is neat, old bottles have gotten quite expensive in antique store ~

  9. Denise,
With flying colors! I knew I liked you, this just reinforces it.
What always amazes me is when people are suprised when someone is honest. What has the world come to?

I really enjoy hearing your comments, sorry I had to turn on the "word verification" but I got my first comment from a "non-person".......I prefer comments from people.
