Garage Progress

Well another day in the garage, it's really starting to look like we are getting somewhere.  Our youngest son is home from college this weekend so he made a dump run and dropped off all of the sorted metal and also the trash!    Just taking that stuff out of the garage was enough incemtive to get me ready to start today.   Roger and our son made a trip to Tractor Supply for a project they will be working on tomorrow and came home with this lovely piece of garage furniture.......
This is going to make finding all the little goodies we spent the day sorting easier to find, what could make this any better?  It was on sale, we had a coupon for $5 off and it was already assembled!

Here is some of the stuff that we have been sorting.......

To the untrained eye it probably doesn't look like it is sorted but the above drawers are all sorted, one has springs, one has stuff for exhaust repair you get the idea.  The totes below are sorted into likes but still need to be sorted more, for instance the safety glasses need to be cleaned and checked for scratches, the screws will be sorted by similar size, bolts the same.....

Here are the last three drawers that need to be sorted, but we ran out of steam.

It looks better, but after I took this photo I rearranged a few things so you will have to wait to see what I did 'til later.

These are the buckets of wire that are waiting patiently to be sorted and find a new home.  There are a few things that need to be brought down to the shed for winter, we will do that tomorrow while our son is around and the rest of the day I plan to make chili and sit on my recliner watching games and napping!

Enjoy your Sunday!

  2. Goodness it looks alot like our garage and you are inspiring me to get in our garage.. Russ collects all sorts of things...Doesn't like throwing out much because we may need it..One time I threw out a small tv antenna and when the cable went out we had nothing..Russ reminds me of that often when I want to start sorting things..We are always rebuying something because things are unorangized...

Is it fun to sit back and watch the games with our kids...Hope you enjoy sitting back and relaxing after the last couple of days cleaning the garage...

    Have a wonderful sunday...

  4. Denise, Nice progress on that garage! I've been away this week and just started catching up on what everyone has been up to. I'm impressed that you got all that done without St. Deb to push you every step of the way...:)
My husband is still raving about being able to park in our garage again. He keeps asking when Deb will be back to tackle the basement!
Love you new storage bins. Great find.
Enjoy your day of rest, looks like you totally deserve it after all you got done this week.

  6. My hubby would love one of those bin thingies! I need to check our tractor supply, maybe for a birthday, anniversary or Christmas. The garage in my old house looks a lot like yours before you started. Yours is lookin good!

  7. It is looking great Denise... it is such a tedious job but look how much you got done... I am so impressed.

Looks like Mike is literally trying to make me into a saint... a dead one...lol.

I think we should rotate visits and give each a kick in the butt when needed. Imagine how much we could get done in a day.

When Dennis saw the quilt, he asked me where you live... lol... he said "so when are going to Maine?" I told him we would stop along the way and pick up Rose... she's better with tools than me. Oh can you imagine the fun we could have. We will just have to work on it. You just never know Denise.

    Hugs, Deb
