A Graduation.........

In the midst of planning my dad's funeral my youngest son graduated.........

I haven't figured out how to crop, etc with the new program so you get the pleasure of all three of my sons in the photo!

My dad's funeral Mass was very nice, many of our family members were able to take an active part in the Mass.....three of his grandsons were alter servers, my brother and I did the readings, two of his granddaughters brought up the gifts, his pall bearers were four more of his grandsons, my other siblings placed the pall on his casket before the Mass.  After his funeral I really felt at peace with his passing, there will still be tears now and then, but I know that he is in our Father's house waiting for us to join him.

Stay tuned for my next post.......a special letter arrived in the mail last week!

  1. A friend once said to me that our best hope of immortality was in our grandchildren. I'm sure your father would have been proud of these three and hopeful for their future.

    1. Thank you Catherine, I know he is proud of all of his grandchildren. I still find it amazing that two people can fall in love, marry and leave behind 5 children, 15 grandchildren, and 5 1/2 great grandchildren (so far)!

  3. Great picture of your sons. Congratulations to the graduate!

Your Dad's funeral was a healing service for you and all the family. You will miss your Dad, but as you said he is in a better place.

I really enjoy hearing your comments, sorry I had to turn on the "word verification" but I got my first comment from a "non-person".......I prefer comments from people.
