Summertime Puttering

Nothing exciting going on at my house, just getting some of the outside work done while the weather is still comfortable.  We have had some great days and I usually "kick" myself when I put off something that needs to get done and I have to do it when it's hot and muggy.

One side of my house has always been very shady and because of that the siding has gotten very green and terrible looking.........I only have the "before" pictures so you will have to wait to see the after for another post.  Here is what it looked like yesterday afternoon...............

We have cut quite a few trees down on this side of the house for our garden area so it should stay cleaner longer.  This was one of the little things that I wanted to get done on this side of the house, we are working on this part of the yard and now I'm not disgusted with the way the house looks while I'm working over here!

I also finally hung the wonderful gift that Deb sent me quite some time ago, I knew where I wanted it to go, and a few months ago I found the star and the "saying" and proceeded to put them in the corner with good intentions to get it put up, finally got that done!  I know the quilt top is not finished but it still makes the wall look great!  Thanks so much Deb, I really love it especially since I know that you made it with your own hands!  What do ya think??

I also had to get the "furnace" room cleaned up since we have the "Direct TV" guy coming soon to do some tweaking and the furnace is also acting up so that's another repairman to call!  It certainly was time to tidy up in that room, it tends to get neglected with everyone going in and getting stuff and not putting things back, hard to believe.

After dinner I did a few of the "little" things that needed to get done to the chicken coop area, so now I can cross a few more things off that list.  I had to put a couple of hooks to hang the water container and feeder and I had a board to put in around the bottom of the coop so I can fill in around the coop and make it look pretty.  I still have more to do, but there is a lot of summer left to get it all done!  Tomorrow I have to attempt to dig a trench for the Direct TV wires (we have to relocate our dish), thankfully we have a backhoe so I should be able to get it done, don't worry hubby will be right there telling me which lever to push, pull, etc!

Gotta get to bed so I can get up and do it all over again in the morning.    Blessings!

  1. Hi Denise,
Happy 4th of July. I love puttering around the house too. Today I hung clothes outside and feathered my nest. It is good to get caught up with going ons around your home.
    Have a blessed week.

  2. Our back steps get the mildew on them and we use a stiff brush and bleach solution to clean them. Hubby powerwashes the north outside wall to get the mildew off, otherwise it looks just like your wall. You've been really busy. Hope the digging of the ditch goes well. Our temps are too hot to do much outside work.

  3. The north side of our house looked just like that last year, so we pressure washed it and now it looks great! Love the quilt you have hanging up. Have fun with the backhoe! :0)

  4. Oh this blogger is making me nuts these days too... I just saw this post. I tried to post a new one today and after a couple of hours fiddling with it... gone. I could scream. Now it is back to the beginning and I don't have time now.

Oh Denise you did the crane proud... love the prim star and sign beside it too... perfect combo. And the quilt you put on it is to die for... LOVE IT.

Hope all is well... I wish I could get there to help you out this year but with the price of gas right now we haven't been venturing too far from home.

You take care sweetie... don't be overdoing it in this heat.

    Hugs, Deb

I really enjoy hearing your comments, sorry I had to turn on the "word verification" but I got my first comment from a "non-person".......I prefer comments from people.
