Finally Some Sewing

I am sure that some of you are wondering why I named my blog Mountain Quilter when I haven't written any quilting related posts lately.........well I haven't been to the quilt shop much or in my sewing room very much lately.  I have been trying to take advantage of the weather when it is comfortable to work outside.

On Sunday and Monday the temps were just right for spending some time in my sewing "cave", LOL.  I spent most of the afternoon on Sunday and some of the evening in this corner finishing up the leaves for the 'Vintage Scrappy Nine-Patch Quilt' from Lisa Bongean's Nine-Patch Gatherings.

Yesterday morning I only had this corner of leaves, these leaves are already stitched, and by the end of the day I had attached (with a few drops of quilter's glue) the remainder of the leaves......now I will finish stitching them!

At the end of this past week the local quilt shop had it's annual "tent sale", the best part was that the fabric in the sale room was on sale for $3.99 per yard, so of course I had to go in and see what she had......on the first day of the sale I found these bundles...........
On Sunday I thought I would go in to see if anything new had been added to the sale room,  to my surprise some Jo Morton fabrics had been added.............
The top four are Jo's fabrics the bottom is Sandy Gervis, the prices in the sale room are still going to be reasonable $5.99/yd, but I really couldn't pass up a few yards at $3.99.

  2. Oh Wow Denise... every quilt piece I see you do I love more than the last one. I have never seen such a variety of patterns as you do. They are all gorgeous. You do the nicest work, I can see why you love doing what you do.

That is a steal for the fabric too... prices for fabric here is outrageous... my GF bought a yard of plain poly/cotton last week and it cost her 18.00+. She just about fell on the floor and that was at a cheap store.

Can't wait to see what you are up to next...

    Hugs, Deb
